TEDxYouth@Claremontschool 2021 “Young voices, big ideas”

We are writing to you to inform you about an exciting opportunity that is available for our students from Year 9 to Year 12. The TEDxYouth @ ClaremontSchool is a one-day event for ISP students, with live speakers sharing short talks and serving as a source of knowledge and inspiration for young people around the world. The TEDx event will take place at Claremont School in the UK in February 2022 (final dates to be confirmed). All expenses will be covered by ISP.

If your child is interested in applying, they should send a 1-minute video explaining their idea for their TED talk to Santiago Ordejón (s.ordejon@newtoncollege.es), along with the permission forms (links below) by the 7th October. Three students will be chosen by a selection committee within school as finalists and these finalists will be coached and prepared before a final audition where one student will be picked from Newton College to attend the event at Claremont School. This is an incredible opportunity for pupils to improve their public speaking and become confident communicators of English.

The topic for the talks is “Young Voices, Big Ideas”. The speech should focus on a topic that interests young people. You can share a powerful idea, experience, or new idea as a source of knowledge and inspiration for young people around the world.
