“Year 6 Entry Point AD900”

In Year 6 we are studying the topic “AD900” as part of our IPC. To get our students excited about what they were about to learn, we decided to invite them to dress up as any character from History. We prepared a range of fun, learning activities for the entire year group to take part in. We began our morning by asking each child to write the time period their character was from on a post-it. They were challenged to then order their class chronologically without speaking at all. They searched for other characters from their time period later and created some short mimes to present to the rest of the year group. We finished our morning of fun learning by announcing a costume winner from each class, who won a special prize from the Year 6 prize box. We are looking forward to more exciting activities as we take this journey into the past and learn about ancient cultures.
